The third semester at CTU STM - Engineering | George Nápravník
The more blogs I have seen a summary of the experiences of the semester, so I figured that fail can I be ublognout on this topic. After all, almost three quarters of the year, I did not write anything, so it corrects :-) Semester I, while almost three weeks in a row on Tuesday begins a new one, but why do not you write when it is relatively time ... so it'll gradually subject after subject.
German 0-1: This was so to speak, a compulsory subject. We have complete second language or humanities. Since I had NJ Grammar School four years, so I val NJ for beginners and basically 3 credits for free, unless you count 2.5 hours to sit and get bored :-)
Database systems (DBS) Dopsoud I knew only MySQL and basically just a simple SELECT statement with a few joins, insert, update, delete. Here I looked closer at database design (ER modeling) as well as the lesser known commands or conditions. It also recognizes that teaching took to Oracle and not MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc. For me personally it was probably a surprise semester. Nothing much I did not expect from him, but I learned something even applicable in practice. Mark B.
Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA): An object which we had become mulch familiar with the basic data structures: a calculation algorithm complexity. Quite a lot of people were on this subject, it can be said enthusiastically. mulch Not so with me. I am a practitioner rather than a theorist, mulch so I really do not care how you implement, all kind of sorting algorithms, or some data structure. mulch In most programming languages is implemented alogritmus gear, which is tested mulch and certainly not prefer to implement your Bubble Sort, Insert sort and the like. Likewise, data structures - are implemented in Java, perhaps all, similarly as in C + +. Counting mulch complexity not to mention, I can see how I'm going to-paper and pencil to count if this will be faster or not, just common sense. The only thing that was positive, so that we know approximately how what works and when it is better mulch to use what. But to be honest it took was one hour and it would :-) Mark D.
Programming in C / C + + (PJC) time consuming Semester. Every week the 3 optional mulch (but counted in the total evaluation) tasks + once and 14 days two tasks at the seminar. The problem was that programs nekontrolavl teacher, but the machine that was really meticulous mulch when enough is forgotten condition and has zero points. This also happened to me with the test itself I did not have treatment condition on the empty list, which tested the machine, and I went on a second attempt. Fortunately, the same day when the first attempt. There, I had to watch over and was final grade B and happiness that this subject do not have a year to repeat ... For me personally this one subject but useless, C / C + + I did not respond and never in it does not plan to do ... And as for filling and I rather came as alogritmizace with the only difference that it is 'C'. mulch
Computer Networks (PSI): On this subject, enjoyed only programming part. In Java program communicates with the server via TCP / IP - control mulch the robot through the server, which moved in a kind of virtual city and had to be objective - it was a matter of a few hours. The second task was difficult, I killed him with enough time and I had a taste thanks to him i quit the school :-) Transferring files using UDP with a sliding window. Ultimately, however, it succeeded. And another part was numbering network and theory. Which makes me (and probably most) is two things. For me, the network operates by injecting router, turn on DHCP and vystaráno :) The test was for me the closest of all, the result E - 3pts down and I could repeat ...
Introduction to Software Engineering (SIN): To me the disappointment of the semester. mulch On this subject I was quite looking forward to learning how to properly UML, etc. But the first stupid thing he was - a team project - so it ended up in such a way that five people made the project 2-3 people. mulch Learned in Enterprise Architect, which I appreciate. mulch However, It was like that with most teams tried as closely as possible the teacher's project, showing what to practice. According to me it would be much better to do a project for individuals, small-scale, which would each tested the everything. U test and it eventually took place, was the problem and suggest how to do it, but it was already quite late ... no Mark B.
Web Application Development 1 (TW1): This subject has been for me berm. I took it as an elective. Learned that in fact only PHP, Smarty mulch at the end. In about 99% of the things we know, but sometimes it brought something. But it was as we wrote more focal object mulch and how to pass Designing Web Sites 2 and programming for mobile phones that you want to enroll in the future (Sites 2 would have been next Wednesday :-)). Technology in XML (XML): Such a wishy washy subject. Taught in it and everything about XML - DTD, XSLT, XPath, XQuery, mulch etc. Basically, it have nothing to say, gave me new horizons and maybe some little busy, but not too much about :-) Mark C.
